From their early ’69 show at Mac Court (one of their biggest venues at the time) to Autzen in ’78, Oregon wasn’t just a tour stop...it was a second home. The Dead played on or around campus more than 20 times, making UO one of their most historically relevant college campuses. Oregon was home turf for much of the extended Dead family, Ken Kesey, the Pranksters, and a road crew full of locals. Look up the Veneta show.
