Notre Dame x Grateful Dead Circle Bears Tee
Officially licensed by the University of Notre Dame and Grateful Dead - available exclusively through Class Trip.
A marriage of two iconic American brands. While they didn’t perform directly at Notre Dame, the Dead’s regional presence significantly impacted the local culture and the Notre Dame student body in several key ways. Chicago became a central hub for the Grateful Dead’s Midwest performances, with major shows at venues like the Auditorium Theatre, Soldier Field, and later, Rosemont Horizon. While Notre Dame is traditionally known for its conservative and religious roots, the university—like many institutions in the 1960s and 1970s—saw a countercultural shift during the height of the Grateful Dead's popularity. The band's message of peace, exploration, and rebellion resonated with students who were part of the anti-war and civil rights movements. The 1971 and 1973 Chicago performances, in particular, are considered some of the Dead's most celebrated Midwest shows.
