The Grateful Dead’s journey through Montana is a tale of singularity and resonance. Their sole performance in the state occurred on May 14, 1974, at the University of Montana’s Adams Field House in Missoula. This concert was part of their inaugural tour featuring the legendary “Wall of Sound” system, delivering an expansive, four-hour set that included a rare rendition of “Dark Star.”   While the Dead never graced the stage in Bozeman, the spirit of their music has deeply permeated the Montana State University community. Students and locals alike have embraced the band’s ethos, with campus bands drawing inspiration from their improvisational style and the broader jam-band culture.  This collection celebrates the band and Bobcat pride with exclusive graphics and officially licensed apparel, it’s a tribute to the timeless groove that continues to resonate within the Bozeman community and beyond
