Their sole performance in the state occurred on May 14, 1974, at the University of Montana’s Adams Field House in Missoula. This concert was part of their inaugural tour featuring the legendary “Wall of Sound” system, delivering an expansive, four-hour set that included a rare rendition of “Dark Star.” While the Dead never graced the stage in Bozeman, the spirit of their music has deeply permeated the Montana State University community.
