The Grateful Dead's connection to the Clemson University, particularly through their October 31st Show in 1985 at the Carolina Coliseum in nearby Columbia, carries over their commitment to playing in and around the Southeast throughout their touring days. This Halloween show featured a memorable setlist, including a rare performance of "Werewolves of London" as well as a raucus West LA Fadeaway, highlights the intersection of the dead and southern influence on their music. This ended up being the only time the Dead would play in South Carolina, and they left the place rockin' with a memorable "Shakedown Street."
