Vanderbilt x Grateful Dead Baseball Bear Friends Tee
Officially licensed by the Grateful Dead and Vanderbilt University, available exclusively from Class Trip.
On October 21, 1972, the Grateful Dead rolled into Nashville and played a free show on Vanderbilt’s Alumni Lawn, a true Music City gift to the people, as it was the band’s final free show outside of San Francisco. It was a six hour heater of pure Dead: Bertha, Truckin’, Morning Dew, the whole deal with a legendary China Cat > Rider in the first set. The Dead chose the outdoor setting for better sound and atmosphere, drawing thousands of fans from campus and beyond. The concert remains a high point in both Vanderbilt’s and the Dead’s live music history, remembered for its energy, generosity, and the way it brought a countercultural spirit right into the heart of Nashville. Grab your exclusive Vandy Dead x Baseball gear before the first pitch of the regionals!
